We have developed two workshops which broadly cover the areas of:

  • Disability responsiveness and
  • Capability building.

These workshops can be tailored to meet the specific needs of particular organisations as required.

Getting It Right: A two-hour disability responsiveness workshop, for anyone who works with disabled people

This workshop is available in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

The workshop includes resources to take away. Each person attending will also receive a copy of our latest publication: ‘Making your meetings accessible and inclusive’, valued at $19.50, absolutely free.

Cost

The cost of attending this five-hour workshop is just $175.00 per person (minimum of 10 people attending) and includes resources to take away. Each person attending the workshop will also receive a copy of the ‘DRNZ Life Action Planning Tool’, valued at $50.00, absolutely free.

Personalised Mentoring Programme

The following tasks are included in the 8-week, Personalised Mentoring Programme.  The Personalised Mentoring Programme takes place in one-hour sessions, either face-to-face, over the phone or via Skype.

Tasks

  • Introductions: mentor and Mentee spend some time getting to know a little about each other and agree a process for future interactions.
  • From interests to Abilities: finding out what interests the Mentee and how this might be turned into employment opportunities.
  • The Employment BHAG: discussion of employment dreams and the problem with just problem solving.
  • Formulation of an employment action plan.
  • Characteristics for Employment Success: Resolving barriers to the employment BHAG.
  • Positive Disclosure: what is it and is it for you?
  • Preparation for the modern Job Interview: what to consider and how to prepare.
  • Self-Employment: pros, cons and funding available.

The Personalised Mentoring Programme includes information and other materials, including the DRNZ Life Action Planning Tool, for the personal use of each mentee. Disability Responsiveness New Zealand can also produce a CV and standard letter, to be adapted by you, for future job applications.

Cost

The cost for the full Personalised Mentoring Programme conducted via telephone is $150.00 per hour: $1,200.00 for the eight-week programme.  An additional charge of 70C per kilometer will apply to cover travel for any face-to-face sessions required.

The production of a personalised standard letter for job applications and a CV is an optional extra, usually costing $370.00.  This cost is discounted by 20% as a special offer, for those who are also undertaking the Personalised Mentoring Programme.

The total cost of the full programme, all handout materials and checklists, plus the production of a standard letter and CV is $1,496.00.
